Artists of all nationalities and based anywhere in the world (including finnish artists).

Collaboration residencies, socially engaged work or individual projects
One of our major focuses are collaboration between local and residence artists. Local artists can apply either to be matched with a residence artist, or to work in partnership with an specific international artist who they already know– if so, both artists must send in a application. Residence artists can apply to be matched with a local artist for developing a work together. Artists can also apply to work independently on a project without collaboration with other artists. It is possible to apply for both options in the same application. Artists can also be selected for socially engaged projects in schools, kindergartens or in elderlycare. Artists proposing to work in these contexts must have previous experience of working with the proposed age group.
Residency Periods:
Artists can be selected for residency periods of 1-3 months from September 1st until the end of 2026.
Presentation of work:
During the duration of the residence, the selected artist(s) will develop work or a body of works to be presented in the end of the residence.
All artists are asked to present some work related to the residency project during the “University of Kucku -Faculty of Art, Sustainability, Rest and Whatever” festival in October 2026, this may but doesn’t have to include visiting Lovisa for the time of the festival.
